There are several group rides to participate in in Reno. A good way to learn about these rides is to join both the UNR and the Reno Wheelmen list serves. You can do this through the links provided below. We do require a helmet to be worn on all group rides, no exceptions!

- Below is a list of local mountain bike rides which was made available by the guys at Great Basin Bicycles. Please visit the Great Basin Bicycles website for more of Reno's and Lake Tahoe's best rides and don't forget to give them a call if you have any questions concerning the rides or if you just want to talk about bike stuff.

- For the Lake Tahoe mountain bike trail maps please visit the Great Basin Bicycles website. On their website you will find very detailed trail maps for the Lake Tahoe, Auburn and Downieville areas. Feel free to contact Great Basin Bicycles for all your cycling needs.
- Winter riding in Reno does not have to be that bad! Just remember to dress accordingly. I find that good gloves, arm and leg warmers or a nice breathable jacket, full booties or toe warmers and either a headband or a cap do the trick on most days around 40°F. If it is any colder you may want to add a thermal shirt under the jersey. But be warned if you dress too warm you may end up colder than if you had not dressed warm enough. You do not want to start sweating halfway into your ride, especially if you have a descent in the second have. And remember to always wear your helmet! In the winter months people are less likely to be thinking about cyclists on the road and therefore it can be a bit more dangerous for car/cyclist interactions.
