The UNR Cycling team consists of many different people, here you can get to know a little about them.

Thoughts about Team	The Team is why I chose to come to the University of Nevada, it is a wonderful bunch of rippers, shredders, and general go-getters. This team oozes with talent, and is not afraid to shake out its feathers and fly.
Other Hobbies	Viewing highly educational films, generally starring Charlie Sheen or Patrick Swayze, combined with a healthy dosage of Pabst Blue Ribbon is one of favorite past times. I also regularly bow-hunt polar bears.

Thoughts about Team	There's always a little bit of something for everyone. Looking for a casual ride this Tuesday night? I'm sure someone is willing to tag along. Racing in the Bay this weekend? I bet someone will carpool with you. Seriously though, you can meet some really cool people through the cycling team and it's been by far my best college experience: stuffing 12 people into a hotel room, traveling, camping, racing, indoor power class, joining the pain cave with others, etc

Type of Riding	I prefer racing mountain bikes but this spring I am looking to score well in the collegiate road series. I race pro in mtb and cat 2 in road.
Experience	Way too long racing for the team. This years best results are a win at Nevada City Classic and an upgrade to cat 2. I was stoked to go to collegiate Nationals for road in Madison Wisconsin, and ended up 19th out of 140+ starters.
Thoughts about Team	My favorite thing about the team is the friends and the opportunity to race as a team, not just an individual event.

Brad

Type of Riding	Started out on a hardtail, then went 5-inch trailbike, and I am now completely sucked into the pure awesomeness that is downhill. Most of my rides are spent at northstar for the summer. Once in awhile I'll go pedal pushin up a mountain, but am constantly thinking of the part where the descending starts.
Experience	I've only been riding downhill for about a year and a half, but I've participated in races at Northstar, and competed at the Sea Otter Classic. I do what I can to ride with pinners so I can improve each time.
Thoughts about Team	The team is awesome. I was stoked to find out about this team and it's a lot of fun to hang out and ride with people that share the same passion as you. The more people we can get to join, the better for sure.
Other Hobbies	Other than riding? Man that's a tough one.... Ride moto? If that counts as different.

Type of Riding	I ride road and mountain
Experience	Been racing about 2 years on the road, and I'm planning to race mountain for the first time this semester (and SLAY of course). Well, it would be nice to slay the opponents like dragons, but I really just want to keep some of my supple white skin.
Thoughts about Team	I'm excited to travel around and see some of the courses that will be laid out this year.
Other Hobbies	As far as hobbies, biking definitely takes the bulk of my free time, but I've been known to enjoy camping, hiking and fishing a whole lot too.

Thoughts about Team	Excited to ride with the team, meet new people and ride and race as much as I can.

Thoughts about Team	It's a great addiction and challenge. The people, the racing, the traveling, the suffering - it's about as pure and fun as you can get. I've made some lifelong friends on the team. Oh, and, Shut up legs... do what I tell you!
Other Hobbies	Carbon Composites and tinkering, beer brewing, and um... bikes, lots of bikes.

Experience	First season racing! I learned to ride in Taos, New Mexico and I am still learning the tricks of the trade!
Thoughts about Team	We have fun!!!! It’s a great place to make to friends and drink beer!
Other Hobbies	Skiing! Anything outdoors: fishing, hiking, camping, you get the idea!

Thoughts about Team	The team has made my college experience such a blast! It is a great way to meet people, stay in shape, and see lots of different trails.
Other Hobbies	I also enjoy snowboarding, backpacking and socializing...especially with bikers :)

Thoughts about Team	Most fun I have ever had. Traveling, camping, riding & racing, and lots of work.

Experience	Race NORBA sport, hoping to upgrade this summer Well I pretty much get my butt kicked because I ride a DH bike in the Dh race. †Strange huh?†However, I do well when there is a real DH course. They are a little hard to come by though.
Thoughts about Team	Hum...well...the kick ass cool people on the team, duh!!!

Type of Riding	Mainly Road, but with a previous interest in MTB (SingleSpeed), which will hopefully come around again.
Experience	I have raced for a few years, and I have a licensed race category which currently does not reflect my actual racing ability after taking a few years off to arrange a wedding and begin teaching. My results are shaky, and a bit out of date, but a highlight reel might include winning the SS category of the Cool MTB race, in great muddy conditions, in the late 90's and winning the Omnium in Vegas, a great 2 day/3 race event, which actually earned me the final hard fought points, for my last upgrade. I have raced from SoCal to Oregon, in TT, Crits and Road Races. I have been a single, lonely racer in a pack of 130 riders, and I have also been a member of a small, tight knit team, sacrificing for others. I have enjoyed all of the races that I have gone to and the friendships that have formed from my years of riding. I am now looking forward to reminding myself why I ride, and to get the results good training will bring.
Thoughts about Team	What I like most about the team is the ability to bring a diverse group of people together. When I first began school, it was a source of camaraderie and a great number of organized rides. We showed up at races as a team and raced as a team. It was a very gratifying experience, from which I have a lot of fond memories. Now that I have returned to school, I am looking forward to once again being a part of something that is both fun and hard. Everyone on the team knows that its hard to balance school, work, and anything else, but the team gives us an outlet, and when we go to races, we race against people who are in the same situations. It makes for a great race attitude and atmosphere.
Other Hobbies	School has evolved to include a teaching position in addition to the classes that I am taking. This coupled with my other job, creates a situation that makes riding harder and also more important. My time on the bike, and with the books, is tempered by my desire to spend time with my newly wed wife, Ann.

Experience	I placed 2nd in C's Duel Slalom, and 19th in B's Downhill both at Parkfield.

Other Hobbies	Skiing is my first love. I play the bass guitar in the band Asystole. We are some form of Metal. I pole vaulted during my senior year in high school. I like to light stuff on fire on occasion.

Thoughts about Team	I was on the UNR cycling team for two seasons. It is a great place to meet people and have fun while riding your bike. I like all types of riding, but racing downhill bikes and dirt jumping are my favorite to do. It is hard to find the time to ride as much as I would like, but that is the great part about the team, there is a place for everybody, even old timers like me!!! See you on the hill.
Other Hobbies	Skiing, mostly in the backcountry, freshies .. ooohhhhh freshies!! Kayak and climb a little bit also. Tequilla and PBR also are my friends.

Other Hobbies	Having fun. Following the team to events (which may qualify under having fun). Traveling elsewhere...to ride bikes or by bike. Snowboarding. Watching college basketball. Doing laundry.

I am a 3 time Mountain Bike World Champion although there is no evidence of this because of some timing errors at the race. I am still appealing and waiting for my rainbow jersey(s). I have a string of MA 2nd places in XC ans STXC and DH. I am the Erik Zabel of collegiate mountain biking.
Thoughts about Team	I enjoyed my time on the team so much I am considering applying for a double major so I don't have to graduate in the spring.
Other Hobbies	backpacking, watching college basketball, some snow sports if it's not too cold or snowy out, traveling, knitting.
